About me...
It's all about telling a story.
authentic and an honest one...
All my lamps have a story. Those stories are important to my customers but are just as important to me.
I don’t make lamps just for the sake of lighting up a corner of a dining room. Of course I want them to be functional and have an attractive design but most of all I would like them to evoke emotions.
Designing a lamp with limited resources is challenging but also so much fun. One might think I'm limited by what I can source but I don't see it this way. I say source for a reason. I don’t go and buy wood from timber merchants. I do need to buy an occasional switch or a cable but that’s it. Everything else is either found or given to me. I’m the strange guy on the plane carrying a plank of ancient wood from Sicily to the UK :)
Just to give you an example. Classic Mustard was made from a bamboo laundry basket, old ply, gate post, steel wrench, chair springs…
I’m always on the lookout for exciting stuff and wood I could use. A lot of the time I just happen to stumble upon it but it always has some sort of a story.
Those stories fascinate me the most.
